We are heading across the ditch to New Zealand and would love for you to join us!

From February 22-27, 2024 we are heading to Auckland and Te Arai Links for a fun and relaxed trip to play some fantastic golf and stay in some superb accommodation.

We start the trip with 3 nights in Auckland, staying at the wonderful SO/ Auckland and playing two wonderful courses in the Auckland region - Titirangi GC and Royal Auckland and Grange GC. Titirangi GC is the only Dr Alister MacKenzie designed course in New Zealand and is set in a beautiful environment of lush New Zealand native bush and rolling fairways. A fun start indeed! We then play the private and exclusive Royal Auckland and Grange GC. A wonderful lunch awaits us afterwards.

On Sunday 25 February, we then head 90min north to the stunning location of Te Arai Links. You may not want to leave. Just saying! Positioned alongside pristine New Zealand coastine, Te Arai Links is a world class golfing destination with luxury accommodation and now two pure links golf courses. We play both the Coore Crenshaw designed South course and the brand new Tom Doak North course - which only opens up in October 2023! We finish the trip with a relaxed dinner of delicious pizzas and some shared platters...and maybe a few putts on Ric's Playground. You will love your time here!

Limitied to 16 golfers. Minimum of 8 golfers required.

Secure your spot today with a NZD$2,000 per person deposit, with the balance due mid December 2023.

Feel free to contact us if you have any queries whatsoever.

We look forward in having you join our trip.

With thanks,

Matt.

Matt Ridge (on behalf of the GOLFSelect Travel team).

The Auckland Golf Club is a private Golf Club that was founded in 1894, with the first course situated at the Auckland Domain. In the 1890's the Club moved to farmland at Greenlane and then in April 1900 the Auckland Golf Club's lease of the One Tree Hill site was secured.

In 1907 the Club purchased land at Otahuhu which was to become the permanent home of the Auckland Golf Club with the links being opened in April 1910.

Today the Auckland Golf Club is one of the top parkland courses in New Zealand. Many National and International tournaments have been held on the course including New Zealand Opens, New Zealand Amateurs and the Bonallack Trophy which was held in 2006.

Located 20 minutes from Auckland, Titirangi Golf Club is considered on of New Zealand's best courses with its tall exotic, native bush and undulating landscapes.

Opened in 1926, the course was designed by Alister MacKenzie - who is also well known for his work on the world famous Augusta National, Royal Melbourne, Cypress Point.

The course has undergone some recent course updates, however the subtle cunning of MacKenzie's design is still very much a part of Titirangi. Today, the course is consistently rated in New Zealand's top five.

Playing Tips

1
Par 4, Length 282m

Your drive should be right of centre, this gives the best shot at any pin position.

2
Par 4, Length 310m

Keep the drive as close to the line of the greenside as possible.

3
Par 4, Length 389m

The wind on this tee will fool you. Watch which way the flag is blowing.

4
Par 3, Length 169m

The wind on this tee will fool you. Watch which way the flag is blowing.

5
Par 5, Length 485m

Keep drive as tight left as possible if you want to get up for two.

6
Par 4, Length 387m

Drive at the power pole, left is not good. Second shot is longer than you think.

7
Par 3, Length 190m

Keep the ball below the hole.

8
Par 4, Length 310m

If downwind, go with your driver but keep it on a tight line right. If into the wind, lay up with a long iron. Watch the borrow on the green.

9
Par 4, Length 408m

Drive as tight left as you dare for the best line to the green.

10
Par 4, Length 352m

Centre or just right of centre is the best driving line. Watch the borrow on the green.

11
Par 3, Length 161m

If the pin is on the left, it is one club more than if the pin is on the right.

12
Par 4, Length 419m

A drive down the left side gives the shortest line to the green. A long green, so the right club is important. A big par 4.

13
Par 5, Length 468m

Left is the best line from the tee. There is more room than you think. Anything right will cut you out from the green.

14
Par 3, Length 185m

There is only one place to hit it. On the green, preferably on the right level.

15
Par 4, Length 368m

Off the back tees, driver with a controlled draw will get you down near the green.

16
Par 4, Length 384m

Keep drive left, second shot clubbing all important. Watch the borrow across the green.

17
Par 4, Length 425m

Keep drive right, second shot short will bounce right. A long green.

18
Par 4, Length 338m

Second shot all important, keep the ball below the hole on the green. Slopes from back to front.
