Northern Golf Club is ideally located only 20 minutes north of the city centre.

Northern is an 18 hole championship standard course measuring 6059 metres and is a challenging but fair test of golf. With water hazards, couch fairways that are rated amongst the best in Melbourne, clever bunker placement, and bent grass greens, it is a challenge for players of all standards.

Playing Tips

1	Par 4, Length 341m The perfect tee shot is positioned left of centre of the fairway which provides a relatively safe shot to the green. The green has a bunker on the right and back left. A large gum tree also guards the right side of the green. Out of bounds continues along the entire right side of the hole.
2	Par 4, Length 286m A short risk, reward par 4 with Westbreen Creek running across the fairway 130 metres from the tee. A fairway bunker is placed 210 metres from the tee on the right side of the fairway. The green has a large bunker to the left. Out of bounds runs down the right side of the hole from the creek to the green.
3	Par 5, Length 485m A gentle dog leg to the left. A drive to the centre or right of centre will give you a good look at the green. A large water hazard is on the right side of fairway. Another water hazard and bunker on left side of fairway. Two fairway bunkers on right side of fairway 90 metres from green. The green is surrounded by bunkers on the left, right and in front.
4	Par 3, Length 172m An interesting medium length par 3 with an undulating green. A bunker is situated short left of green and greenside bunkers at the front and back right.
5	Par 4, Length 360m A straight drive will put you in good position for the approach to the green. Water hazard on the left side of the fairway from just short of swale to the green and another water hazard on the right at the swale. A bunker is positioned short and left of the green with another bunker to the right of the green.
6	Par 3, Length 140m An attractive hole with a water hazard stretching across the front of a two tiered green. Large bunkers on both sides of the green. Club selection depends on pin placement.
7	Par 4, Length 320m Accuracy is required with the drive on this hole. A dog leg to the right with a water hazard on the right. Bunkers surround both sides and the front of the elevated green.
8	Par 4, Length 390m From the elevated tee this hole is a slight dog leg to the right. The centre of the fairway is the best position for the approach shot. A fairway bunker is placed short right of the green with another bunker to the right of the green.
9	Par 5, Length 484m The perfect tee shot is positioned left of centre of the fairway which provides a relatively safe shot to the green. The green has a bunker on the right and back left. A large gum tree also guards the right side of the green. Out of bounds continues along the entire right side of the hole.
10	Par 4, Length 400m The hardest hole on our course, and for good reason! A straight drive between the double fairway bunkers on the left side of the fairway and the copse of trees on the right, will put you in good position for the approach to the green. Beware, the left side of the fairway adjoining the practice fairway is out of bounds. Bunkers and large swales are positioned short, left and right of the green with a steep drop off, and a lake to the rear of the green.
11	Par 5, Length 445m This short par 4/5 is a birdie hole as long as your drive does not find the five fairway bunkers on the corner of this dog leg to the left. After the corner the fairway is undulating. Bunker on right side of green.
12	Par 4, Length 368m Relatively straight forward hole from elevated tee with a wide fairway. Bunkers short left and right of two tiered green.
13	Par 5, Length 470m Medium length straight par 5 with three fairway bunkers to the right side of fairway commencing 100 metres out from green. Green side bunker on the left.
14	Par 3, Length 139m Deceptive hole for its length. Two bunkers to the left and one to the right of the green.
15	Par 4, Length 309m Slight dog leg to the right from the tee. Large water hazard to the right and out of bounds to the left. Large bunker and gum tree guarding right side of green. Another bunker left of green.
16	Par 3, Length 168m A very challenging medium length par 3/4 with bunkers on both sides of the green. A 150 metre carry will avoid the the right green side bunker which comes around the front of the green. Out of bounds on the left.
17	Par 4, Length 348m A creek runs across the bottom end of the fairway and is 263m from the tee and 64m from front of green. Tee shot should fall short of creek which allows for a clear approach shot to the green. Westbreen Creek runs diagonally across the fairway at approximately 250 metres from the tee. Large bunker and gum tree guard the front right of the green. Another bunker back right of green.
18	Par 4, Length 389m With a view of the clubhouse in the background, the fairway has a slight dog leg to the left. Grass mounds front left, right and back. Large green side bunker front right.
