Carrington is not only home to a tournament quality golf course, but also has a lodge, vineyard and Black Angus stud farm on site.
The tournament quality 18 hole Carrington Golf Course was inaugurated on 15 December 2003 and designed by American golf course designer Matt Dye.
The unique 100 acre seaside layout meanders around the central resort complex and its oversized layout allowed for extensive natural conservation areas within the golf course. The course is separated from the beautiful 15 metre high sand dunes of Karikari Beach and views to the North Cape of New Zealand by an extensive 900 acre natural wetlands. The course is abutted on two sides by Carrington Farms 300 head Black Angus stud and also sits next to the 101 acre Karikari Estate Vineyard and Winery.
The Carrington Golf Course is suitable for all players of varying skill levels, whilst also presenting a challenge to tournament golfers. Another outstanding feature of the Carrington Club golf course is that, although it has an oceanside location, it looks and plays like an inland golf course. Carrington is complete with rolling hills, vales, and natural water hazards that complement the natural contours of its location.
